My Favorite Things – Innovation Challenge

This is the third and final card challenge currently being hosted by My Favorite Thin. This one is an innovation challenge and it got me out of my comfort zone for sure.

I don’t usually do cards like this. They take quite a bit of time and figuring out how to make everything work. I think my niece, Lily, will enjoy this card.

The card is 4 1/4 x 11 in size.

I used distress ink, broken china, to ink up the sky. The MFT mini cloud stencil helped to make a light cloud background.

I stamped out many trees from the modern tree set and die cut the out. I was going for more of a fall feel with the trees.

Using one of the Dienamic edge dies, I created some rolling hills and added the picket fence from the new release for a fun effect.

I started off the song of “Old McDonald Had a farm and….” By pulling the lacy, green ribbon, it will advance the animals along so you can see all the animals that are on the farm.

Here is the cow. Every where a moo moo…

Next, we have a pig.

innovation2

Everywhere and oink, oink…

Next up is the cute little sheep.

innovation3

Everywhere a bah, bah…

Finally, we round out the menagerie with a horse.

innovation4

Everywhere a neigh, neigh.

Hope you enjoyed this fun, interactive card.

My Favorite Things – Color Challenge

This is my second card submission for the My Favorite Things card challenge, but this is for the Coloring Virtuous challenge.

I stamped many of the Plentiful Petals in the background with multiple colors of distress oxides. I inked up the band (Die-namic Sentiment Label Strip) with the same distress oxides. I then cut out the word “blessed” 4 times from the Die-namic Blessed & Blessing set. The 4 cut outs were stacked one on top of the other to give me a thicker word and some depth to the card. The card was finished off by putting some glossy accents on top of the word blessed.

My Favorite Things – Clean and Simple Challenge

My Favorite Things is hosting a card challenge…3 in fact. I thought it would be fun to play along as well.

Here is my submission for the Clean and Simple Challenge.

I used the Harvest Mouse stamp kit and colored them in with copic markers. I cut out a rectangle using the Die-Namics stitched rectangles and a frame using the Die-Namic Stitched Scallop Rectangles. In the middle I stamped the word “grateful” using the new Grateful stamp. I edged both rectangles with a wink of stella pen.
