Happy Birthday Mom

My mom recently celebrated her birthday and we got together today to celebrate her day.

She loves Lily of the Valley. She would grow Lily of the Valley all along the side of our house, when we lived in Chicago. She’d send me or my brothers out to pick the flowers to bring to our teachers every Spring. Anytime I see Lily of the Valley being depicted in a stamp image, I have to get it as it reminds me of my mom.

Unity Stamp company recently released this beautiful background stamp. It spoke to me immediately and of course, I bought it. I made my mom’s birthday card this year with this stamp.Birthday - Lily of the Valley

I stamped the image on kraft colored cardstock from Gina K Designs. I embossed it using Brutus Monroe Alabaster embossing powder. Coloring is done via Prismacolor colored pencils. The image was adhered to a Polka dot paper by Unity Stamp Company. I then wrapped some May Arts twine around the image and adhered to  kraft cardstock base.

Using Unity Stamps Company Say it Big May 2019 sentiment kit, I stamped and embossed “happy”, “BIRTHDAY” and “This calls for a celebration” with White Alabaster embossing powder and kraft cardstock.

I hand cut all components of the sentiment, adhered foam to the back and added to the card.

My mom loved the card and the beautiful drawing of Lily of the Valley.
