Happy Monday Unies! Welcome to my blog, which is a pretty new endeavor for me. I thought it might be fun to start one, and then after getting chosen to be a Growing in Unity Gal this year, it felt like the perfect time to start.
I don’t know about you, but it takes a group of good girlfriends to make life fun and interesting. I have a small group of girlfriends that we call the “Tilted Tiaras”…yes we have tiaras that we wear occasionally. We have such fun going to dinner, the movies, random get togethers, etc. We are all very different, but come together and accept each other as we are and thoroughly enjoy each other’s company. We recently attempted one of the local escape rooms – we escaped with 3 minutes to spare! We laughed and laughed and had a blast. I highly recommend!!
Well, onto the cards for the day. It should be no surprise, that my cards today are all about friends and the friendship we have.
My first card I used the Good Friends, Stupid Things stamp set. I colored all the women in red – a power color for a powerful trio! I matted the image on the chevron paper found in in the paper pad Love is All Around Us as well as the Herringbone paper found in the paper pad Love is in the Air. I white embossed the sentiment “One friend can change your whole life” on the strip of Herringbone paper. I finished the card off with some red pearl embellishments.
I made a second friendship card. Unity has so many great images of women, I had a hard time choosing, but I settled on 4 of the planner girls. I like being able to use diecuts from other companies and highlight Unity images.
The 4 planner girls I used are:
I stamped each one individually, colored with copic markers and cut the images down to fit inside the rectangle of the large frame. I cut the Lawn Fawn frame from black cardstock and from black foam. I attached the black cardstock to the black foam frame. Then I attached the 4 images behind the frame. Finally, I adhered the entire thing to a black card.
I cut the word “friends” from 3 pieces of hot pink cardstock, layered them on top of each other and added it to the black frame. Finished the card off with some jewels.
Let me know what you think – I hope you are inspired to make some cards for your friends.
I’m sad to say, one of the “tilted tiaras” is moving away shortly so our small group will sadly have to say good-bye, but see you soon to one of our own.
Don’t forget to leave a comment daily to be entered in for a prize pack from Unity. I look forward to sharing my creations with you this week.
Katie
